Gelatin flowers look like stained glass! This gelatin poinsettia looks fabulous as a topper on a Christmas cake!
How Much Does That Cost?
Since all cakes are not created equal, they are not all priced the same.
However as a guideline our custom cakes are priced per serving with the final price being dependent on total number of people served and the intricacy of the design.
The more specialized the techniques used the more money the final cake will cost.
Wedding cakes cost more per serving because they are bigger,
more elaborate and take longer to do.
Complex and highly detailed designs are charged per project.
Set up and delivery fees are also applicable.

How Long Does That Take To Do?
We get asked this question a lot, "How long did it take to complete that cake?”
Again since all cakes are not created equally that is a difficult question to answer.
Gumpaste and stained glass flowers generally take a few days to complete from start to finish.
Fondant figures need a week from start to finish to accommodate drying time.
Handmade cake toppers can take a couple of weeks depending on how elaborate they are.

There is time invested in the purchase of items needed to complete the cake
and covering the cake board which also requires a drying time.
Then there is the actual making of the cake batter, fillings, frostings, fondant, baking times, cutting, torting, filling, crumb coating, icing and covering the cakes, AND the final decoration.
In short, we don’t take last minute orders!
Not to mention the boxing up of the cake, transporting,
setting up at the venue and photographing the cake.
The 6 foot tall wedding cakes that are created on TV in 8 hours or less are simply not reality!
So the easiest answer is “It takes as long as it takes to provide a superior product.”

Cake Decorating has been around for a long, long time.
This is an old cake decorating poem from
the August, 1899 McCall's Magazine.

Her First Cake
She measured out the butter with a very solemn air;
The milk and sugar also; and she took the greatest care
To count the eggs correctly and add a little bit
Of Baking Powder, which you know, beginners oft omit.
Then she stirred it all together, and she baked it full an hour;
But she never quite forgave herself for leaving out the flour.
